Where is seeley bay
Lawrence at the town of Gananoque. The main draw for visitors over the past years has undoubtedly been the fishing as the village is a great launching point to 4 great fishing lakes bass, bowfin, pike, pan fish of various kinds and more. Today it is a Mecca for outdoor enthusiasts, with nearby hiking, cycling, golf and historic back roads driving routes, to get away from it all.
Additional shopping, dining and touring in the Islands is only minutes away in Rockport, Gananoque and Kingston, and the village is easily accessible for day trips or overnight from Montreal, Syracuse, Toronto, Ottawa, and more. While we have approximately 9, permanent residents, we welcome thousands of seasonal residents and tens of thousands of visitors to our region every year.
The Township offers its citizens a great lifestyle; with the perfect balance of heritage, culture, services, outdoor activities and contemporary living. Residents and visitors alike enjoy the spectacular beauty, from the Frontenac Arch Biosphere, a connection of the Canadian Shield boreal forest to the forests of the Adirondack and Appalachian Mountains, to the Rideau Canal and Heritage Route and the many lakes, rivers and scenic vistas in between.
There is a community park with playground and picnic tables. Supplies, fishing and boating items are available in the village at Main Street Hardware.
Frost Fest , an annual winter carnival, is held in early February. The dam and locks at Upper Brewers, completed in , and the control dam at Morton raised the water level, flooding the marsh, changing it into today's Cranberry Lake.
The lot on which Seeleys Bay sits was originally granted to Matilda Read. In , her son, John Seeley, acquired the lot.
