Why is zenmaity banned
Comments 8. Like 7. Ojama Lime. Just ban hunter. Joichiro Nishi Deck Building Guru. I like having Mystic Mine legal, but I don't like that it's an entire style of deck people can play. All of the cards going from zero to one are either just too weak to deserve their spot on the Forbidden List these days, or the shift is a result of a different ban. And in the case of Firewall Dragon it's because we'll see it with a new, errata'd effect in Ghosts from the Past.
I didn't Semi-Limit any cards. I actually think the Semi-Limited list is a waste of space, and it's often used as a pitstop for cards moving between 3-per-deck and 1-per-deck status, one way or the other. The result is often an additional three to five months where a card isn't really where it should be. That often does much more harm than good. So I think overall, the right call is to either leave it at three and figure out a different change, make it once-per-turn, or just Forbid the card outright.
This is the meat and potatoes, cards that have been on the list for ages but never come back because brevity's always a priority for format updates, cards that are only hit because it keeps other cards like Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians legal, and so on. The True King stuff was hit almost four years ago for what can only be described as "Konami doesn't want to hit the new Secret Rares, either because money, or because it makes people feel less bad about spent money," but boy golly did we ever get a list after Maximum Crisis that decided both Dragonic Diagram and Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King needed to stay at three, and to justify it, we lost every other card in that deck.
Due to aforementioned factors like pit stops on the Semi-Limited List, and an inability to have lots of changes on a single list, lots of cards are still restricted that don't really need to be.
Dinowrestler Pankratops went to one, probably so that cards like Gizmek Kaku, the Supreme Shining Sky Stag could find space in peoples' Side Decks, and then that just didn't materialize anyway. A "Wind-Up" Deck uses a variety of single-use monster effects to control the field while " Wind-Up Factory " generates hand advantage. Summoning any of the first three and then Summoning "Shark" allows for an easy Rank 5 Xyz Summon, using cards like " Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh " to break Set monsters and Spell and Traps, " Number Volcasaurus " and " Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon " to destroy any opponent's face-up monster and, in the case of "Volcasaurus", deal massive damage which you couldn't beat with ATK alone.
If dominating, " Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry " is also an option, allowing destruction of up to 3 cards, but due to it needing quite some material, most Rank 5 Xyz Monsters outclass it, due to the amount of effort lost when it meets cards like " Bottomless Trap Hole ". Any Rank 4 Xyz Monster can also easily be Summoned by the combo of "Shark" with any of the Level 4 monsters, and due to the speed, allows 3 material monsters like " Vylon Disigma ", and " Numbers " " 10 ", "16", " 32 " and " 69 " to be Summoned without loss in card advantage.
First, you must have "Hunter" in your Graveyard. Then, you must have "Carrier Zenmaity" on the field, and activate its effect to Special Summon a "Rat". Use the effect of "Hunter" to Tribute "Carrier Zenmaity" and make your opponent send a random card from their hand to the Graveyard. Hardest hit by this list were Wind-Ups and one of, if not the best, has been Banned. I mentioned before, and may continue to do so, how incredibly fast Wind-Ups are This is a Water attributed Machine with attack and defense.
Simply incredible right there. The speed this added to Wind-Ups was crazy, and lets you accomplish or at least set up about whatever you want. I really like this effect too, being able to replay a Wind-Up although returning your own cards to your Hand isn't usually the best way to go about things. Here it could be awesome. The only real downside to the Carrier was the attack.
Wind-Ups are brilliant, with how fast they are, how they can swamp, and recycle resources. I think it might be too early to tell if this Ban kills the Deck This week we look at cards that were impacted by the Forbidden and Limited list change as of March 1st.
Up first is the newly banned Wind-Up Zenmaity, the card that many players dreaded seeing on the other side of the field. Mainly because the infamous Wind-Up loop was never too far behind with Wind-Up Rat, Shark and anything else that would allow you to special summon another Wind-Up monster, and another, then Xyz summon. Next turn, lather rinse and repeat. I personally am glad to see this card go. It was a strong part of the Wind-Up deck and even in traditional can still wreck a lot.
Welcome to Ban-list week!
