One said that the indent of the jockey on the backside of the flap is not there but everything else checks out. Could it be possible that the ones Made in China with the more recent models do not have the indent anymore?

Any chance these might be authentic? Hi Dess the link you provided sells fakes. Your best bet is to try ebay. The listing should have a lot of detailed pictures. Someone i know recently bought a regular le pliage and a limited edition when they were in Paris. The limited edition is made in France, while the regular one is made in China. Both bought from same outlet! I have a limited edition from a few years ago and it too says made in France. Or you can tell the salesperson to give you a Made in France regular Le Pliage. They know which is which by the code written on the yellow sticker on the plastic where the bag is kept.

I would also like to add that the leather is quite stiff and thick as compared to the genuine russian leather used by longchamp. Lastly, the dimensions are off a full inch depth and height. The differences are quite subtle rally and i can only i,agine if you did not have a real one to compare it would be almost impossible to tell.
