I go to the microsoft website, attempt to download IE8, it asks what OS you are using, there is no Windows 7 option available for selection.
If you know of a place where I am able to download the Windows 7 version of IE8, then I would be more than happy to attempt that again.
However, since it's not an option at this point, as much as I would like to go back to IE8, unfortunately, I am unable to. OHHH crap your right, i ran into that a few days ago. Just to see if it works have you tried a different browser? Firefox does not update all that often and when it does like MrAdam said it takes barely a few minutes.
Also chrome can be setup to not send all data to google. Yes I have, and I realize you can get chrome to automatically open the files after download, but i'm not trying to download the files, that would equal out to be a lot of used space that I would have to create a daily script to remove the data from.
I really would like the functionality of IE for SharePoint, however, if this is the only way I can get it to work, I will just have to write a script that runs every day. However, if any of you can figure out how to make IE9 work the way it's supposed to, I would greatly appreciate that information. Internet Explorer 8 is part of Windows 7. If anyone posts before I come back, kindly wait, and I will respond upon completion of this test.
